Here I am not thinking about royalties or spontaneity or artists rights. No, my main concern is the sad fate of the attention span. Appreciation of music (good music that is) takes time and patience. For example, the very physical act of going to a gig meant that you were there to hear them for the evening. The physical process of putting on a record meant that you were at least committed to listen to a side for half and hour or so.Now that you can flick-and-move, flick-and-move, I expect something vital might be lost forever.
